‘Daffodils of Hope’ fundraiser for Relay For Life

CAMBRIDGE — “Daffodils of Hope” will be held this spring as a fundraiser for Dorchester Relay For Life. Richard Warfield, chair of the project, said the flowers are set for delivery on April 10, just in time for Easter on April 16.

This year’s offerings include four-inch pots of mini daffodils, tulips and hyacinths, and bunches of pencil daffodils or tulips, which will be ten stems each.

The flowers are available for $10 a pot or bunch. “You can plant these beautiful Flowers of Hope and watch then bloom year after year, or give a bunch to cheer a friend,” said Mr. Warfield.

The Relay For Life project is broader in scope, as it includes students from the Dorchester Career and Technology Center horticulture program. Terry Nuwer, instructor at the school, said the students will package the daffodils, tulips and hyacinths. This serves as a project to help familiarize the students with the horticulture industry.

Prepaid orders are due by March 27. To order contact: richard.warfield@nationwide.com; 410-228-6726; Facebook at Whitten Group LLC.
