Nazarene Services

Grace UMC

St. Paul’s Sunday School
The Gleaners Class of St. Paul’s UM Church in Cambridge will meet Sunday at 9:45 a.m. Gloria Whaley will have the devotions and Dot Bradshaw will teach the lesson.
Richardson’s Men’s Class will meet at the same time. Leon Peters will have the devotions and teach the lesson.

Farewell reception
Sunday, Zion United Methodist Church will have an Appreciation/Farewell reception for Pastor and Mrs. Michael Hurley. This will be held in Garrettson Hall immediately following the 11 a.m. Worship Service. It will be an opportunity to thank them for all they have done for Zion in their short time with us, and to wish them the best in the future.

Student Appreciation & Prayer Day
The Rev. James C. Whitaker and the congregation of Waugh Chapel United Methodist Church, in Cambridge, is asking that all local churches mark June 23, as “Dorchester County Student Appreciation and Prayer Day.”
The purpose is to collectively recognize the importance of education in our children’s lives and to show our support to keep them lifted up for success. To participate, churches are asked to include prayers, sermons and other acknowledgement opportunities during their worship service on that day to empower our county’s students and all those who play a part in their education.

Pre-Women’s Day
Prayer Breakfast
The Women of Bethel AME Church, 623 Pine St., Cambridge sponsor the Pre-Women’s Day Prayer Breakfast at 9 a.m. June 22.
Speaker will be the First Lady of Zion Baptist Church Clarice Mathis.
Carryouts are available from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. with no carryouts after 8:30. A donation of $7 is asked. The menu consists of sausage, scrapple, eggs, fried potatoes, pancakes, applesauce, toast, orange juice, coffee, tea and apple juice.
All are welcome including men and women. Chairperson is 1st Lady Joyce Fitchett with co-chair, Kathy Sorrell.

Vacation Bible School
St. Luke UM Church, 712 Bradley Ave., Cambridge will host Vacation Bible School from June 17 through June 21, 6-8 p.m.
Whoosh, take flight to where God leads you! The Rev. Jerome Tilahman Sr. is pastor.

Grace VBS
Grace UM Church, 501 Race St., in Cambridge will hold its Vacation Bible School entitled ”Roar,” from June 24 through June 28.
It will be from 9 a.m. to noon for ages 3 through Grade 6 and all are welcome.
Experience an African adventure and discover a ferocious faith that empowers you through this wild life to find that God is always good.

Agape Temple VBS
Registration for Vacation Bible School at Agape Temple of Praise and Ministries, Inc. will be June 10 and June 11 from 5-7 p.m. at Agape.
VBS will be held J une 17 and end June 21, from 6-8 p.m. The theme is “I’ve Got Talent.” Ages 4 to adults are welcome. Host pastor is Senior pastor V. Louise Cornish.

Bake and Yard Sale
Agape Temple of Praise and Ministries will host a Yard Sale and Bake Sale on June 15 from 7 a.m. until at the corner of Washington and Pine Street in Cambridge. Sponsored by the Ushers’ Ministries.

Ladies' Prayer Breakfast
The Ladies Prayer Breakfast will be held at 8 a.m. June 15 at the New Revelations Baptist Church at 711 Bradley Ave., Cambridge.
This is a nondenominational event and all women are invited.

Family & Friends Day
Bethel AME Church, 623 Pine St., Cambridge will hold a Family and Friends Day at 3:30 p.m. on June 23.
Guest speaker will be Minister Selby Hubbard of Faith Unity Church Ministries in Chestertown.
Guest choirs include the Inspirational Voices of Praise and the Progressive Male Chorus of Bethel AME. Soloist will be Bruce Smith.
Dinner will be served at 2 p.m.
The day is sponsored by the Men of Bethel AME Church. The Rev. Randolph Fitchett Jr. is host pastor.

Annual Men’s Day
Christ UM Church, 5033 Aireys Road, Cambridge, will host its Annual Men’s Day at 3:30 p.m. on June 30.
The Rev. Gerald Graham from Coppin AME Church in Jonestown will bring the message and he will be accompanied by his choir and congregation.
Michael Robinon is the president and the Rev. Roslyn Watts is host pastor.

Word & Worship
Bethel AME Church, 623 Pine St., Cambridge will host an afternoon of Word & Worship on June 30. Doors open at 3:30 p.m. and the service begins at 4 p.m.
A portion of the service will be taped for the Rev. Lee Michaels of the new hit show “All Things Baltimore.” Special musical guests will be The Brown Boyz of New York.
The Rev. Randolph Fitchett Jr. is host pastor.

Jesus
Zion Baptist Church Pastor’s Aide Ministry is sponsoring a bus trip to Sight & Sound Theater in Lancaster, Pa. to see the play “Jesus,” on Aug. 8.
Tickets are $150 for an adult; $95 for children 12 and under which includes travel, entry and dinner after the play.
Bus will depart from Zion Baptist, 600 Cross St., Cambridge at 10:30 a.m. and return at approximately 10 p.m.
A payment plan is available for those that need as follows: a non-refundable deposit of $50 by May 18 with the balance due by June 22.
