CAMBRIDGE — The Cambridge-South Dorchester High School girls varsity basketball team was overpowered at home Dec. 17 by a talented 2A Parkside squad, 53-15.
The visitors came to play, and jumped out to an early lead, with the score 11-0 at the 5:15 mark of the first quarter. At the end of the period, it was 16-4, with the Vikings tally featuring a three-pointer by senior Aliyah Collins.
In the second quarter, Rams steals and ball handling skills lead to lay-ups and an increasing lead. The end of the half revealed 30-6 Parkside advantage, with Paige Bleyer having sunk the only basket for the Vikings.
The visitors continued to dominate in the second half, as the C-SD girls struggled to get their offense going. In the third period, JaZhana Butler scored, and in the fourth, RonQuisha Pritchett got two buckets, while Collins added another.
