I join the League of Women Voters of Delaware and Indivisible Highlands and Beyond in their support of House Bill 188, which would open primaries to unaffiliated voters (“Let’s open primaries to unaffiliated voters").
More than 30% of Delaware’s registered voters have chosen not to select a party, and the percentage of young voters in this category is rising. I have heard many people express concern about young people not participating in elections. We need to meet them where they are, by allowing unaffiliated voters access to ballots in primaries, where most Delaware elections are decided.
