CAMBRIDGE, Md. - Willis B. Wood of Cambridge, formerly of Milford, Del., passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2011, at Mallard Bay Care Center in Cambridge. He was 85. Mr. Wood was born in Green, Ohio, the son of the late Elias K. and Vesta Irene Wood. He was a bus driver for a Tour Bus company. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a life member of the Memorial Vol. Fire Company in Slaughter Beach and a member of the American Legion Post # 3. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Alice (Bennett) Wood; son, Willis Wood Moffett, Jr.; and siblings, Donald Wood, Janet Hanna, Dougie Wood. He is survived by his daughter, Janelle Allen and her husband Dale of Royal Oak, Md.; step-son, Ronnie Bennett and his wife Nancy of Milford; six grandchildren, Victor E. Passwaters, Jr. and his wife Cortney, Jessica R. Passwaters and her husband Brad, Amanda M. Allen, Michelle Maull, Christian N. King and Jacob King; and four great-grandchildren, Jayden Passwaters, Jared Maull, Casey Maull, and Cameron Maull; siblings, Vesta Mea Wood (Junior), James Wood (Reba), Edna Pierce (Howard), Mary Pike, Gilbert Wood, Floyd Wood, Raymond Wood, and Linda Zabel (Robert) Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2011, at 12:30 p.m. in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front St., Milford, where friends may call after 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro.
