HARRINGTON — The Delaware State Fair is bringing back another piece of its partially canceled 2021 concert lineup with the addition of country music legend Hank Williams Jr. to the 2022 schedule.
Mr. Williams will perform in Harrington on July 30 at 7:30 p.m. His concert will join shows by Sam Hunt and TobyMac, which also were eliminated last year due to the pandemic.
The fair also announced Monday that Pennsylvania-based rock group Halestorm will play the M&T Grandstand on July 22 at 7:30 p.m.
Mr. Williams’ resume spawns 70 million albums sold worldwide, six platinum albums, 20 gold albums, 13 No. 1 albums and 10 No. 1 singles.
Marking 52 years since his first album in 1964, the singer released his most recent record, “It’s About Time,” in 2016.
That project includes original tunes such as “Dress Like an Icon,” “Just Call Me Hank,” “It’s About Time” and “The Party’s On,” as well as rerecorded versions of the classics, “Mental Revenge” and “Born to Boogie” with Brantley Gilbert, Justin Moore and Brad Paisley on guitar.
Mr. Williams has won Entertainer of the Year awards from both the Academy of Country Music and the Country Music Association, plus recognition as a Broadcast Music Inc. Icon. He also is a Grammy Award winner and has been inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame.

Halestorm consists of lead vocalist and guitarist Lzzy Hale; her brother, drummer and percussionist Arejay Hale; guitarist Joe Hottinger; and bassist Josh Smith.
The band’s hit single, “Love Bites (So Do I),” made Halestorm the first female-fronted group to earn the top spot on the Active Rock singles chart. It also won a Grammy award for Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance in 2013.
The group’s self-titled debut album was released April 28, 2009, through Atlantic Records, followed by its second, “The Strange Case of ... ” three years later. Its third album, “Into the Wild Life” (2015), peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard 200.
Halestorm’s fourth release, “Vicious” (2018), debuted at No. 8 on the chart, becoming its second top-10 record.
