William Wisseman Sr.

SEAFORD - William "Bill" Wisseman Sr., of Seaford, died after a courageous battle with lung cancer on May 25, 2011 at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford. He was 74. Bill was born on May 26, 1936 in Ellendale, the son of the late Fred and Nexia Wisseman and grew up in Greenwood. He was a truck driver for over 40 years. He worked for Service Trucking, Jones Motor, and Yellow Freight Systems, retiring from there in 2001. Bill was a member of Teamster Union, Local 326 in Philadelphia. He loved NASCAR and Tony Stewart was his favorite driver. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters. Bill is survived by his wife of 54 years, Virginia Wisseman; his children and their spouses, Brenda and Steve Willey of Greenwood, William Jr. and Liz Wisseman of Seaford, Robert Wisseman of Seaford, and Lisa and Wade Whaley of Laurel; grandchildren and spouses, Jennifer and Mark Anderson of Greenwood, Steve and Kelly Willey of Greenwood, Matt Wisseman of Delmar, Md., Coty Wisseman of Seaford, Jessica Whaley of Laurel, and Danielle Whaley of Laurel; great-grandchildren, Steven Willey, Zarek Anderson, Braedan Anderson, and Landon Wisseman; a sister, Joyce Stacey, of Texas; and a host of nieces and nephews. Viewing will be held Saturday, 28 May 2011 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Fleischauer Funeral Home, 16 W. Market St., Greenwood. Funeral Service will be Sunday, 2 p.m. at Fleischauer Funeral Home. Interment will be held at St. Johnstown Cemetery in Greenwood.
