CENTREVILLE - William Roy Walls, Sr., 'Sonny' of Centreville, Md, died Feb. 4, 2014 at home. Sonny was born on Aug. 11, 1935, son of the late William Thomas and Amy Lucille Cahall Walls. He has lived in Centreville his entire life, where he graduated in 1954 from Centreville High School. He began his career with Queen Anne's County Public Works where he was Road Foreman and Inspector retiring in 2000 after 47 years. Sonny was a life member of Grasonville Moose. He was meticulous in caring for his home, yard and cars and was known for his London Roadster participating in area parades. He also enjoyed traveling and hunting groundhogs, rabbits and squirrels. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 26 years, Shirley Patricia Butler Walls in 1984 and a brother, Edward Lee Walls. Mr. Walls is survived by his son, William Roy Walls, Jr. of Stevensville, Md.; his companion of over 20 years, Lenna Reed of Sudlersville, Md.; a sister, Charlotte Walls Dukes of Sudlersville, Md.; three grandchildren, Patricia Michelle Walls, Trevor Jordan Walls and Tyler William Walls; and two great-grandchildren, Makei Cameron Murray and Aimee Brooklyn Walls and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 15 at 1 p.m. in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, MD, where friends may call from 12 to 1 p.m. Burial will be held privately in Chesterfield Cemetery, Centreville, MD. Memorials may be offered to Susan G. Komen Maryland, 200 E.
