William 'Hat' Parker, 85
MILFORD - William "Hat" Parker, of Milford, died on Monday, Aug. 3, 2009, at Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital, Milford. He was 85. Mr. Parker was born in Millsboro, the son of the late William A. and Catherine Iva (Bunting) Parker. He worked for Jack Burris Company as a Poultry Plant manager and was also a self-employed chicken farmer, raising broilers for many years. He was also an owner and trainer of Standard Bred Race Horses and loved horse racing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Clifton Parker. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Aline Wilkins Parker; two nephews, Clifton Parker and his wife Connie, and Scott Parker and his wife Cindy; four grandnieces, Sara, Catherine, Elizabeth, and Abigail; five great-grandnephews; and two special friends, Arthur and Neal Glanden. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 7, at Milford Community Cemetery, DuPont Highway, Milford. There were no calling hours. Interment will be in Milford Community Cemetery. Arrangements handled by Berry-Short Funeral Home.
