FREDERICA - William Ocker Foulks, died Monday, July 2, 2012, at the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford. Mr. Foulks was born, February 2, 1934, in Stockton, Md; to the Late Hubert D. and Ruth Hudson Foulks. He served in the U.S. Navy for four years, stationed at Oceana Naval Air Station, in Oceana, Va., and aboard the aircraft carrier USS Bennington. After leaving the Navy he worked for the State of Maryland patrolling the Chesapeake Bay waters. William also worked for Chris Craft Boat Company building boats. In 1957, Mr. Foulks enlisted in the U.S. Air Force for a career of 16 years, stationed at many U.S. bases, and overseas in Korea and Thailand, until his retirement in 1974, with the rank of Master Sargent at Dover Air Force Base. Then came the career of his life which he loved the most, being a commercial fisherman on the Delaware Bay, working out of Bowers Beach, captaining his own boat, "Miss Donna". He loved the Bay, fishing, crabbing, oystering, and the people who worked on it. William is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Donna Ann (Riggin) Foulks; sisters, Mary Ann Culver, of Pocomoke City, Md; Patricia Taylor and her husband Randolph, of Snow Hill, Md., and Margaret Dunn, of Jamul, Calif.; nieces, Barbara Vaughn and her husband Donnie, of Pocomoke City, Md; Linda Donaway and her husband Roland, of Snow Hill, Md, and Donna Albert and her husband James, of San Diego, Calif.; nephews, Eddie Hall and his wife Annette, of Crisfield, Md., Danny Dunn, of Jamul, Calif., and Mike Dunn and his wife Tracey, of El Cajon, Calif; and several grand nieces and nephews. Services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, July 9, 2012, at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 West Camden-Wyoming Ave. Wyoming, where friends may call one hour prior. Burial will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2012, in Portersville Cemetery, Stockton, MD. Contributions may be made in his memory to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. Dupont Highway, Dover, DE 19901.
