DOVER - William Irvin "Bill," "Irv" Daniels, 71, went home to be with his Lord on Monday, Sept. 27, 2010, at Kent General Hospital, Dover, after a year's battle with Interstitial Lung Disease. He was a resident of Dover for the last 5 ½ years. He was a former resident of Huntingtown, Md., and prior to that, of Upper Marlboro, Md. He was born Oct. 12, 1938, in Berwyn, Md. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 ½ years, Sandra Taylor Daniels; his daughters, Sandra Kay Palmer and son-in law Terry Palmer, and Cynthia Lynn Daniels, all of Odenton, Md; brothers, Charles F. Daniels, Jr. of College Park, Md., Rev. George and Liz Daniels of Oro Valley, Ariz., Thomas and Mickey Daniels of Monroe, Iowa; and sisters, Patricia and Dick Goddard of College Park, Md., Jane and Jim Hahn of Fayetteville, Pa., Doreen and Jay Good of Madison, Va., Joyce Rosewag of Owings Mills, Md., Donna and Mike Sinsel of Bracey, Va.; and many loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father and mother, Charles Frederick Daniels, Sr. and Leona Seaton Daniels; his sister, Darlene Utterback; and his infant daughter, Debra Jane Daniels. He was a 1956 graduate of High Point High School in Beltsville, Md. He worked for Safeway Stores, Inc. and then for the Bolling Air Force Base Commissary as a meat cutter. He retired from the government in 1994. Bill loved to hunt rabbits with his beloved beagles. He was an avid gardener and was always doing things for his family who he loved very much. He was a member of First Southern Baptist Church in Dover. Prior to moving to Delaware in 2005, he was a deacon and member of Dunkirk Baptist Church in Dunkirk and of First Baptist Church of Upper Marlboro. The family will receive visitors at Dunkirk Baptist Church, 11275 Southern Maryland Boulevard, Dunkirk, Md., from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Oct. 2, 2010, with funeral service at noon. Rev. Rick Hancock will officiate. Burial will follow at Southern Memorial Gardens, Dunkirk, Md. Pallbearers will be Fred and Andy Rosewag, Kevin and Scott Sinsel, Darren Good and Chris Daniels. A memorial service will be held at First Southern Baptist Church, 761 S. Little Creek Road, Dover, Del., on Sunday, Oct. 10, 2010, at 2 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Dunkirk Baptist Church, 11275 Southern Maryland Boulevard, Dunkirk, MD 20754, or First Southern Baptist Church, 761 S. Little Creek Road, Dover, DE 19901. Arrangements provided by Torbert Funeral Chapel, Dover, and Raymond-Wood Funeral Home, Dunkirk.
