William Gruwell, 89William Gruwell passed away on Tuesday, February 5, 2024. William was born on September 18, 1934, in Wilmington, Delaware to Louise and Edwin Gruwell.
William attended Fork Union Military School, and then Gettysburg College. After his time in the Army, he settled in Milford where he owned and operated Gruwell Funeral Home and Casket Company. After he retired, William enjoyed spending his time traveling and cruising. He enjoyed playing golf and gambling, especially playing Texas Hold'em. He also enjoyed yard saling and adding to his collections.
In addition to his parents; William was preceded in death by stepson, Jeffrey Blevins.
William is survived by his wife of 42 years, Beverly; daughter, Vicky (Al) May; stepdaughter, Donna (Lewis) Schwartz; devoted friends and neighbors, Debbie and Rob Pratt; and his cherished dog, Bo.
The burial will be private.
