William George Pride

William George 'Country' Pride LEWES - William George "Country" Pride, of Lewes, passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2010, surrounded by his family and friends at the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford. He was 58. He is the son of the late George Harvey Pride and Betty Minner Pride. Mr. Pride graduated from Lewes High School and enlisted in the US Army in September 1971. He worked at the Department of Corrections, for 27 years, as a Correctional Officer, retiring in April 2007. He was a member of the Lewes Rehoboth Moose Chapter 646, an avid golfer, and always looked forward to his yearly golf outing with his friends. "Country" loved football and base ball and was a dedicated Saints Football Fan. He is survived by his daughter, Sierra Pride of Dover, and a host of great friends, who will all truly miss him. Funeral Services will be 12:30 p.m., Monday, March 8, at Short Funeral Services, 609 East Market Street, Georgetown, where friends may call from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Interment will be at the Delaware Veterans Cemetery.
