William Christopher Lane, 76, of Milford, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at AccentCare Hospice in the Wilmington Hospital. He was born in Milford, Delaware April 9, 1950.

Throughout his life, Chris worked in many jobs. He was a surveyor, hot air balloon pilot, construction foreman, salvage diver, amateur treasure hunter, and jeweler-redefining the phrase "jack of all trades." He was a true character who always had a joke at the ready. He loved good food, animals, and spending time with full cohort of buddies, associates, pals and chums. Klapp. He is survived by his sister, Pamela Shahan, his son, Christopher Cole Lane, his daughter in law, Christin Lane, his daughter Rachelle Reese, his niece Amanda Beth Rushe and his grandchildren, Lucas, Silas, Lyra and Ever. He also leaves behind numerous friends who will miss him dearly.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Chris's life at The Palace in Milford, Delaware, on Friday, October 16, beginning at 3 p.m.

Arrangements are in the care of Short Funeral Home of Delmar.
