MILTON - William Albert "Bill" Siegmund Jr., 68, of Milton, passed away Friday, November 28, 2014 surrounded by his loving family from complications due to lung cancer at Delaware Hospice Center, Milford. Bill was born in Delaware, the son of the late William and Norma Siegmund. He worked for the Sussex County Engineering Department over 20 years before retiring. Previously, Bill also worked as a surveyor for Mann & Associates. Bill was active in the Moose Lodge in Lewes and the American Legion in Lewes and Milton. Bill enjoyed woodworking, boating, fishing, and the beach. Bill also loved spending time with his family, playing horseshoes and caring for his many pets. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his loving wife, Karen Lynn( Schueler) Siegmund in 2005; and his son, William A. Zimmerman in 1993. He is survived by three sister-in-laws, Jan and Dan Lundquist of Seaford, Sara & Georges Devleeschouwer of Frederica and Chris and Dick Wasson of Seaford; twelve nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Lily. Memorial Services will be 1 p.m., Thursday, December 4, 2014 in the Chapel of Short Funeral Services, Inc., 416 Federal Street, Milton where friends may call at 12:30 p.m. The Rev. Travis Patton will be officiating and Caitlin Patton will provide special music. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19968 or any local S.P.C.A.
