WILMINGTON - William A. Jackson passed away on Sept. 19, 2011, at Heartland Hospice in Wilmington. He was 91. Born on Jan. 12, 1920, he was the son of the late William Jackson and Sarah Catherine Lewis Jackson. He worked as an automobile assembler for General Motors. After his retirement, he operated a repair and sales business for lawn mowers. Mr. Jackson enjoyed fishing, boating and family gatherings. He could often be found at the Crumpton Auctions. He is survived by his brother, John Owens Lane and his wife, Rose, of Crumpton, Md.; a sister, Louise Holden of Chestertown, Md.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Special mention and many thanks to his special friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Denny A. Jackson; and sister, Myrtle Jarrell. A funeral service will be 11 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011, at the Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, P.A. in Chester, Md., where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Stevensville Cemetery, Stevensville, Md. Memorial contributions may be made to the Millington-Crumpton Charge, P.O.
