RESPONSES TO QUESTION OF THE WEEK

Who’s harmed most during government shutdown?

Posted

While Republicans and Democrats are busy pointing fingers during the government shutdown, who do you think is hurt most? Out of the challenges, what could be the positive outcomes if politicians come to some compromise?

  • It hasn’t hurt me a bit thus far. — Pete Vigneri
  • I can tell you that Sens. Chris Coons and Lisa Blunt Rochester, both D-Del., are not hurting. — Bob Hice
  • The people who rely on paychecks from the government, along with the people who get assistance. — Howard Brobst
  • Federal employees who are furloughed, like myself, as well as my co-workers at Dover Air Force Base. I emailed our two U.S. senators in regard to this devastating issue and have yet to receive a response. Of course, the elites are not hurting during this shutdown but have no problem holding Americans hostage because illegal immigrants are the Democrats’ top priority. — Dylan Register
  • It just shows that our politicians are selfish and out for themselves. It’s beyond ridiculous! They’re a bunch of kindergartners! — Danree Heath
