In a recent commentary, Sussex Countian Eul Lee asks this question: “What does ‘growth’ mean? Slow and organic expansion that is noticeable or an exponential expansion that our eyes cannot keep up with?” Across Sussex and Kent counties, our changing landscapes are often topics of heated debates and concerns. What do you think should drive development decisions?
- The loss of all of the farming is concerning. These “boards and committees” that are responsible for all of this development need to be monitored. Progress is inevitable, but it should be slow and steady. Housing, especially in Sussex County, is not intended for lower-income families. It’s for the second homes of the rich coming out of New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Maryland and Washington, D.C. Delaware should be for Delawareans first. — Rick Kerchevall
