Wayne Wiest Golt

SUDLERSVILLE, Md. - Wayne Wiest Golt of Suddlersville, Md. died on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at his home. He was 62. Born on February 16, 1951 in Chestertown, Md., he was the son of the late Roland Golt and Mary Wiest Baker. Mr. Golt attended Sudlersville High school, leaving school in 10th grade. He worked on boats and did several odd jobs before enlisting in the United States Navy, serving on the USS Kennedy. After being honorably discharged from the United States Navy, he started working for Chester River Boat Sales as a boat mechanic. Mr. Golt had a passion and was very well known for playing music, especially Bluegrass. The name of his band was Rural Delivery. He even played with Dolly Parton. Mr. Golt also enjoyed wood working and wood carving. He is survived by a son, Jason Golt of Garner, N.C.; four sisters, LaRue Peters of Marian, Md., Linda Willis of Centreville, Md., Karen Stafford of Sudlersville, Md. and Johanna Blankenship of Thayer, Md.; and two grandchildren, Zoey and Clara Golt of Garner, N.C.; and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013 in Templeville Cemetery. Arrangements by: Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, P.A. 370 W. Cypress St. Millington, MD.
