Walter J. Minner Jr.

DOVER - Walter J. Minner Jr., of Dover, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2010, at the V.A. Hospital in Elsmere. He was 87. Mr. Minner was born in Harrington, the son of the late Walter J., Sr. and Nettie (Reese) Minner. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II. He was a poultry farmer and a former member of the American Legion. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Marguerite Rifenburg Minner; children, Ronnie D. Minner of Georgetown, Walter J. Minner III of Dover, and Candy F. Toomey of Frankford; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be 1 p.m., Monday, Oct. 11, 2010, in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front St., Milford, where friends may call Sunday night from 6 to 8 p.m. Interment will be in Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington.
