CAMDEN - Walter E. Zornes, Jr. passed away Monday, Jan. 11, 2016 at home. Walter was born May 8, 1927 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Walter E. Zornes, Sr. and Sylvia Garrett Zornes. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sisters, Barbara Dietrich and Marilyn Robinson. Walter had served in the United States Navy for 2 years, during WWII. He loved baseball and had wanted to be a 1st baseman, as he was left handed. Instead he started to sell newspapers on the streets of Cleveland at the age of 12. Then worked with the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Christian Literature for 15 years. He then had worked continuing in sales at Marty's Mobile Homes. He loved that we renovated the 120 year old barn, now known as Magnolia Furniture. We have been there for 20 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Frances V. Herschberger Zornes of Camden; nieces, and nephews, Karen Crane, Donald and Darryl Dietrich and Denise Morris; in George, brother-in-law, Gilbert Herschberger and family; sisters-in-law, Emma Longo and family, Mary Anna Puskar and family, and Katherine Hammond and family; also a special nephew, Jack Perkins and family. We say a special thanks to all our friends. Thanks to Dr. Grewell and staff, and Dr. Mann and staff for keeping Walter alive for so long. His life was preserved 12 times, thanks to our Creator. Thanks to Seasons Hospice for assisting him in the end of his life. Funeral services will be held 7PM, Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2016 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E.
