DOVER - Virginia Pauline Warren Dixon passed away peacefully on Friday, Sept. 2, 2016 at Kent General Hospital. Mrs. Dixon was born May 26, 1926 in Dover, to the late Grover C. Warren and Laura A. Hopkins Warren. She and her husband owned and operated a dairy farm in Dover. Mrs. Dixon was a gourmet cook, creating many of her own recipes. She spent many hours gardening, canning, sewing and crocheting for her family. Mrs. Dixon was an avid reader and loved to travel and saw much of the US including Hawaii. She also visited Mexico, Canada, Puerto Rico, the Caribbean Islands and England. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Millard W. Dixon, Sr.; brothers, Elda, Edward, Lester and Nelson Warren; sisters, Myrtle Long, Mae Powell, Hazel Reed and Gladys Anderson; and one great-grandchild, Lucas Lowry. She is survived by her six children, Patricia (Richard) Davis, of Dover, Janet (Charles) Lowry, of Guntown, Miss., Diane (Douglas) Flanagan, of Felton, Beverly (Benjamin) Severson, of Clayton, Elaine Howard, of Brodhead, Ky., and Millard (Joanne) Dixon, Jr., of Dover; brother-in-law, Thomas Anderson; 20 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and 22 great-great-grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces and nephews, including a faithful niece, Cathy Snyder. Funeral services will be held 12 noon, Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2016 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden.
