Virginia Daniels Fiore

TOWNSEND - Virginia Daniels Fiore "Cee", 71, of Townsend, passed away peacefully with her family on Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014. Born in Dover, on December 7, 1942, Virginia was the daughter of the late Robert Franklin (Bob) and Martha Elizabeth (Lib) Daniels. Virginia was a nurse at Governor Bacon Health Center for 24 years retiring in 1989 due to her disability. In 1984, she was a Delaware delegate to travel abroad to Spain and Africa on a nursing study tour. She also supported Pulmonary Rehab in Vero Beach, Dover and Christiana. Her hobbies included knitting, crochet, needle work, sewing, quilting, cooking, oil painting and crafts. She especially enjoyed spending endless time with her grandchildren and family and her vacation home in Vero Beach, Florida. She attended First Presbyterian Church of Vero Beach. All who knew her will feel the void she leaves along with the privilege of knowing her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph J. Fiore; her son, Michael Lee Tharp; and her brother, John Robert Daniels "Doc". Virginia is survived by her devoted children, Jerri Lynn Cadmus (Tom) of Smyrna, Mark Levi Tharp (Tonya) of Belmont, N.C., Barbara Jean Schaffer (Brian) of Elkton, Md.; brother, James Allen Daniels of Vero Beach, Fla.; sister in laws, Ann McGinnis (Ron) of Naples, Fla., and Carol Blevins (Eddie) of Wilmington; seven grandchildren, Brandi, Brian, Tommy, Jessica, Rob, Amy, Levi; three great grandchildren, Autumn, Holden, and Madison; step children, Gina Fiore of Framingham, Mass. and Ralph Jr. Fiore (Sallie) of Clayton, N.C.; step grandchildren, Hunter and River Fiore. She is also survived by former husband and friend, Levi Jarvis Tharp of Smyrna; and many special friends, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Services will be held on Friday, January 31st at 11 a.m. at Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home, 212 N. Broad Street, Middletown, Del. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Interment will be at Townsend Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Virginia's memory to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. DuPont Highway, Dover, DE 19904.
