Vincent J. Maggi Sr.

Vincent J. Maggi Sr., 67 CAMDEN - Vincent J. Maggi Sr., 67, of Camden, died Dec. 27, 2009, at Bay Health Medical in Dover. Born in Staten Island, N.Y., he was the son of the late Nicholas and Mary Maggi. Mr. Maggi was a U.S. Naval Veteran and had served in the Seabees. He had retired in 1990 from the New York Transit Authority and had moved to the Dover area in 1991. He had owned and operated VJ Snow Cones, a concession business servicing parties and festivals throughout the area. He enjoyed carpentry, cooking and especially the time spent with his family. He had been a member of Holy Cross Church and the American Legion, Walter L. Fox Post. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters. Mr. Maggi leaves his wife, Rita M. Vella Maggi of Camden; two sons, Vincent Jr. and his wife Stacey of Old Bridge, N.J., and John and his wife Christina of Bowers Beach; one daughter, Christine Razzano and spouse Michael of Green Acres, Fla.; a sister, Marie Schultz of Elmira, N.Y.; and five grandchildren. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m., today and from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., Thursday, at the Funeral Home of Michael J. Ambruso, 1175 S. State St., Dover. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 1 p.m., Thursday, at Holy Cross Church, S. State St., Dover. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Dover.
