Victor A. Ross

WYOMING - Victor A. Ross, of Wyoming, passed away on Dec. 25, 2010, at Saint David's Hospital, Georgetown, Texas, from complications of pneumonia. He was 72. He was born on Dec. 18, 1938, in Hazlettville, to Victor T. and Minnie B. Ross. He was a farmer in the Hazlettville area for 40 years. In addition, he worked 25 years for the Conrail Railroad. Victor proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps and was currently the Chaplain for the Central Delaware Detachment of the Marine Corps League. He was also a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church in Marydel where he played in the hand bell Choir. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Sharon Ross. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Margaret Ann; two brothers and their wives, John and Betty Ross, Macon, Ga., Charles and Jennette Ross, Nova Scotia, Canada; seven sisters and their husbands, Dorothy Myers of Titusville, Pa, Kathleen Stutzman of Meadville, Pa, Jean and Ronald Sandish of Oregon, Ohio, Joyce and Ronald Conner of Kernersville, N.C., Rose Ann and Bobby Landers of Georgetown, Texas, Nancy Ross of Newark, Sandra Stump of Wyoming; five god-children, Meryle Lee Chadwick, Scott Clausius, Leanne Voshell, Jeremy Voshell, Erica VanVessen; and his extended family, Laura Voshell, Steven Voshell and Bryan Melvin. In addition, he is survived by many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Mon., Jan. 3, 2010, at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where friends may call two hours prior to the service. Interment will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Calvary United Methodist Church, Attn: Carolyn Thomas, P.O. Box 307, Marydel, MD 21649.
