SELBYVILLE - Viaetta M. Long, 87, of Selbyville died Wednesday, May 11, 2011, at her home. She was born in Roxana and was the daughter of the late George W. and Estella M. (Hudson) Lewis. Viaetta had been a teller at the former Frankford National Bank in Frankford. After leaving the bank, she and her husband Josh were poultry growers for many years. In addition, she had been a school bus driver for 30 years for the Indian River School District. She was a member of Wilson United Methodist Church in Bishopville. She is survived by four daughters, Judy Timmons (Ralph) of Dagsboro, Jane Bezduk (Daniel) of Dagsboro, Sue Smith (Charles) of Milford and Sheila McCabe (Jim) of Dagsboro; two sons, Joshua "Buddy" Long II (Deanna) of Selbyville and Stephen Long (Sheila) of Selbyville; one brother, George W. Lewis of Chincoteague, Va.; one sister, Ann E. Lewis of North Carolina; 17 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Joshua W. Long on Jan. 18, 2011. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 16 at Hastings Funeral Home in Selbyville with Rev. Dennis Millner officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 12 noon to 2 p.m. Burial will be in Bishopville Cemetery in Bishopville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Lane, Milford, DE 19963 or to the charity of your choice. Condolences may be sent by visiting www.hastingsfuneralhome.net.
