Ferguson, 94 MILFORD - Velma A. (Milligan) Ferguson, formerly of Newark, Del., died Monday, July 22, 2013 at the Milford Center. Mrs. Ferguson was born in Hurlock, Md., the daughter of the late Wilbur and Agnes Milligan. She worked as a cashier for many years at Hearns Supermarket in Newark and Woolworths at Prices Corner. She was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church in Rehoboth Beach. She and her late husband Frank enjoyed walking the Rehoboth Beach boardwalk and for 20 years they both enjoyed traveling to Sarasota, Fla. She also enjoyed playing cards and doing ceramics. She especially enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was the glue that held the family together. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Frank H. Ferguson. She is survived by four sons, Frank H. Ferguson, Jr. of Chadds Ford, Pa., William R. Ferguson and his wife Robbinn, of Salisbury, Md., Stephen C. Ferguson and his wife Carol of Lewes, and David J. Ferguson of Middletown; four grandchildren, William R. Ferguson, Jr; Stephanie N. Ferguson, Tiffany M. Coleman and Brandon D. Ferguson; and three great-grandchildren, Crystal E. Ferguson, Bryan M. Ferguson, and Bradyn C. Coleman. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 29, 2013 at Epworth United Methodist Church, 19285 Holland Glade Road, Rehoboth Beach. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to Delaware Veterans Home, 100 Delaware Veterans Blvd, Milford, DE 19963. Arr. by Lofland Funeral Home, Milford, DE.
