Valerie Jean Hydock

Valerie Jean Hydock, age 65, of Lincoln, DE passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at home. Valerie was born on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, the daughter of the late Donald and Marilyn (Beebe) Harding. She worked in the hospitality industry at many locations throughout Maryland and Delaware for many years. During her career, she was excited to have the privilege of working as a caterer on the movie set of "Ping Pong Summer" on location in Ocean City, MD, starring Susan Sarandon. Valerie loved listening to music, collecting memorabilia, and going to concerts. She was an avid Jackson Browne fan, and attended many of his concerts over the years. She also enjoyed traveling, going to the beach, and spending time with her family and many friends. She was also a cat lover, and especially loved Weeze and Peanut.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her loving son Steven Hydock II. Known to all as Stevie, he was a lot like Valerie. He also loved going to the beach and listening to music. He was a very sweet boy and was missed immensely by his Mom. She is also preceded by a brother Eric Harding.
She is survived by two brothers Greg Harding (Lora) and Kevin Harding (Cathy); 2 nieces Rachel and Brianna Harding; 3 nephews Ryan, Shawn and Daniel Harding; several cousins, aunts and an uncle, her partner and best friend Doug Annand, as well as her best friend Teresa Medairy.
A Celebration of Valerie's Life will be held from 3 - 7 pm on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at the Milford V.F.W., 177 Veterans Circle, Milford, DE. Arrangements. by Lofland Funeral Home, Milford. Letters of condolence may be shared with the family at www.loflandandmcknatt.com.
