United Way of Lower Eastern Shore celebrates at 18th Annual Holiday Ball

Posted

United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore recently held its Annual Holiday Ball at the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Resort in Cambridge, raising more than $185,000 through sponsorships, a virtual auction and other event activities.

Now in its 18th year, UWLES was excited to welcome back the event after postponing it in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The event size was reduced to ensure the safety and health of the guests, and about 280 attendees ushered in the holiday season and celebrated the nonprofit’s community impact. Randy Scott, from iHeart Froggy 99.9, was the evening’s emcee and live music was presented by Gold City.

“We could not have been more thrilled to not only gather again in person, but to see the community rally together and pledge over $21,500 in donations on top of other event fundraising, to support UWLES and our partner programs,” said President and CEO Pam Gregory. “This year’s committee, chaired by Jim and Kim List, worked with our staff all year to make sure that this event shined. Thanks to them, our sponsors, attendees and donors, you can truly see why we say, ‘Together, We LIVE UNITED.’”

The event was made possible by the 2021 Holiday Ball Sponsors: Platinum Sponsor – Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Golf Resort, Spa & Marina; Gold Sponsors - The Bank of Delmarva, Salisbury University, and University of Maryland Eastern Shore; Bronze Sponsors - Adams Housing, Avery Hall Insurance Group, BFG Financial Advisors, Delmarva Power, First Shore Federal, Gillis Gilkerson, Hebron Savings Bank, The Insurance Market, Kuhn’s Jewelers, Ocean Downs Casino, Peninsula Plastic Surgery, Mr. & Mrs. Chris Perdue, The Perdue Family, Pohanka, Mr. Mark Rudnick, The Taustin Group, Brad & Joy Strand, Vantage Point Solutions Group and Ms. Sonya Whited; Titanium Sponsors - Atlantic General Hospital, Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore, Downtown Bridal, The Law Offices of James A. List, LLC, M&T Bank, Orsted and Tidalhealth; Cobalt Sponsors - Peninsula Imaging, Rotary Club of Wicomico County, TGM Group LLC and The Truck Store and Auction Partner, AmFund American Fundraising Foundation.

United Way’s annual Holiday Ball occurs on the first Saturday in December, and has culminated into a weekend long celebration, raising critical funds to support about 80 local health, education and financial stability programs. The 19th Annual Holiday Ball will be Dec. 3, 2022, at the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Resort. For additional information, visit www.uwles.org or call 410-742-5143.
