DOVER — A 29-year-old Magnolia man was arrested on weapon and drug charges following a traffic stop Wednesday, Dover Police spokesman Master Cpl. Ryan Schmid said.
The investigation began at 1:01 a.m. when patrol officers oficers observed a vehicle fail to stop at a red light at the intersection of College Road and Saulsbury Road, police said. According to Cpl. Schmid, the vehicle proceed eastbound on College Road at a high rate of speed.
Police said officers stopped the vehicle and contacted the driver, Jordan Patrick. A records check revealed he had a capias for his arrest, authorities said.
Mr. Patrick was taken into custody without incident and police said officers located a 9mm handgun, 72 grams of marijuana and 14 grams of mushrooms, which tested positive for methamphetamines’, following a search of Mr. Patrick and his vehicle.
Mr. Patrick was charged with possession offenses including firearm during the commission of a felony, methamphetamine in a Tier 2 quantity and marijuana other than personal use, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, failure to stop at a red light and driving at an unreasonable speed. He was released on $23,603 unsecured bail.
