  • Work is expected to begin next week on the second phase of Parkside Apartments, located at Glen Avenue and Beaglin Park Drive. The first phase of 96 units, built last year at a cost of $1.2 million, is already fully occupied. The latest section will be made up of seven structures containing 84 living units, including 76 two-bedroom units and is expected to cost $1.4 million to construct.
  • Wicomico County has agreed to purchase a parking lot next to the county library to expand the building. The County Council on Tuesday agreed to pay Robert and Hilda Cannon $73,852 for land behind the current structure. The library’s Board of Trustees, under the leadership of M. William Tilghman, has applied to state officials for $2.2 million to fund the expansion.
  • A free Frigidaire Microwave Demonstration will be held Thursday at Phil’s TV-Audio Appliances at 1313 South Salisbury Blvd. Phil Boltz said he is selling the Model RCM-4 for $389.95 and the Model RCM-6 for $439.95.
  • Back by popular demand, Glass House will play tonight at the Northwood Restaurant and Lounge. At The Seagull Lounge, Sedan DeVille will perform. The area’s favorite band to listen and dance to, Gemini, will appear all month at Dockside Murphy’s.
