Timothy Paul Berkich, 29 OAK HILLS, Calif. - Timothy Paul Berkich, of Oak Hills, Calif., died Dec. 19, 2009, as a result of an auto accident. He was 29. Tim was born Nov. 30, 1980, in Dover, to Nan (Elaine Drennen) Berkich and the late Dr. Thomas Peter Berkich. Tim attended Caesar Rodney Schools and was a very active soccer player. He spent the last 11 years in California working in a number of restaurants in a variety of positions including a barista and a sushi chief. Tim also worked during the off season in the construction and plumbing in the Orange County area. He was currently employed at the No Fear retail store near his home. Tim loved snowboarding, surfing and was able to work as a safety spotter for professional snowboarding events on the slopes of Mammoth Lake Ski area. Tim made friends very easily and kept in touch with them from coast to coast by phone, text and internet. He loved animals and always had a pet in his life. He was truly a jack of all trades, and mastered many. Tim dearly loved living in California where he said he could snowboard in the morning and then after a short drive surf in the Pacific. Tim was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Thomas P. Berkich in 1995; and maternal grandparents, Dorothy and Bill Drennen of Cochranville, Pa.; and paternal grandparents, Pete and Phyllis Berkich of Mechanicsburg, Pa. Tim is survived by his mother and step-father, Nan and Patrick Weaver of Dover; two sisters, Stephany Berkich of Dover, and Suzanne "Suzi" Berkich of Westerville, Ohio; three uncles, Brian Drennen of Cochranville, Pa., Donald and Kenneth Berkich both of Mechanicsburg, Pa.; and best friends, Dylan Beard of Oak Hills, Calif., and Beth Alexander of Orlando, Fla. A memorial service will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 30, at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. A celebration of Tim's life will be held Saturday, Dec. 26, 2009, at the Community Center in Oak Hills, Calif.
