CAMBRIDGE — The Emory Jones Foundation is a new organization starting in Cambridge. This foundation is dedicated to providing prevention and empowerment programs for at-risk youth. The youth within our community will be enhanced with enrichment programs, workshops, and events that will inspire them to becoming tomorrow’s leaders. The Emory Jones Foundation launched the beginning of a dynamic movement for the community within his hometown. On April 18, The Emory Jones Foundation presented “Ties and Tiara” Father and Daughter Dance as a form of enhancing the morals and values of young girls from the ages of 3-13. With the vision to strengthen families and relationships with fathers and daughters, founder Emory Jones quoted “What better male figure could you look up to other than your dad?” He also wants us to remember that the father is the first man in a daughter’s life; and how personal this first event was to him because of lost time from his daughter. Over 40 young ladies were able to enjoy an elegant evening with their fathers. Family members and friends greeted the father and daughter couples at the red carpet styled “Grand March.” During the “Grand March” April Dean Goodman, owner of Bliss Jewelry & Gifts on Poplar Street, sponsored each girl with their very own tiara. The evening continued on with a private formal dining experience for the father and daughter couples. After the daughters enjoyed a sociable dinner with their fathers the evening merged into fun activities, dancing, and more.
