SEAFORD — TidalHealth is partnering with Children and Families First, Seaford Community of Hope and the Seaford School District to bring HealthFest “Care for Generations” to West Seaford Elementary School on April 13 from noon to 4 p.m.

TidalHealth’s annual free health fair is designed to provide people of all ages the opportunity to learn just how healthy they are and what they can do to ensure an even healthier, more productive and active lifestyle.

TidalHealth and Seaford community health care providers will offer nearly 20 different screenings and booths featuring health information and outreach services information.

Some of the more popular health screenings offered at no cost include cancer prevention and HPV information; diabetes education and diabetes risk assessments; blood pressure screenings; and A1C blood draws.

TidalHealth and other clinical professionals will also be on hand to discuss La Red health services, medications and medication reconciliation; cardiac rehabilitation; cardiac catheterization procedures; physical, occupational and speech therapies; home health services; tobacco cessation; neurosurgery; “Stop the Bleed” emergency practices; wellness services; Lifeline 24-hour personal monitoring service; an interactive area for children; a teddy bear clinic and more.

Other local agencies providing information will include the Seaford Police Department; Habitat for Humanity; Food Bank of Delaware; Salvation Army and DHSS mobile health services.

Events include Delaware Human Partners with free cat and dog vaccinations, microchipping and overall wellness checks. A drum line and disc jockey will also provide entertainment.

HealthFest Salisbury will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on June 22 at the Salisbury Fire Headquarters Station on Cypress Street in Salisbury, Maryland. It will offer many of the same screening and outreach opportunities.
