CAMBRIDGE — Taste of Cambridge makes its return in 2017. The event organizer, Cambridge Main Street, announces that tickets are now on sale. Tickets are available online this year at www.cambridgemainstreet.com and also by visiting or calling the Dorchester County Chamber of Commerce where cash, check, or credit card payments may be accepted.
Tickets to the Crab Cook-Off are available for $30 in advance, or $35 on the day of the event. Taste of Cambridge will take place July 8, from 5-10 p.m. in downtown Cambridge.
Taste of Cambridge Crab Cook-Off is a street festival featuring live music, awesome food and family fun throughout Race and Poplar streets. This year the event features Dorchester County native, “Little Art” Renkwitz who will perform as Artie Hill and the Long Gone Daddys.
The street festival is free, but only ticket holders will be allowed to eat the creative crab dishes of nearly a dozen area restaurants. “Judge’s Choice” winners in five categories will be determined by a team of celebrity judges from around the country. Ticket holders cast their ballots for Peoples’ Choice winners in each category.
In its 12th year, the event is now a qualifier for the World Food Championships, held this year in Orange Beach, Ala. A “Best in Show” winner will be selected by the panel of Judges to be entered into the Seafood Competition Category.
“We are excited to organize the return of Taste of Cambridge in 2017” said Katie Clendaniel, executive director for Cambridge Main Street, “it is a tradition here that we are proud to carry forward for downtown and for our local community.”
