Three arrests made in Dover home invasion case

DOVER — Three arrests have been made in connection with a home invasion Feb. 14, Dover Police said Thursday.

Spokesman Master Cpl. Ryan Schmid said, Jaymere Lewis, 27, of Smyrna, was taken into custody without incident at Dover Probation and Parole on Feb. 21.

Mr. Lewis was charged with first-degree home invasion burglary, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, second-degree assault, aggravated menacing, wearing a disguise during the commission of a felony, motor vehicle theft, second-degree conspiracy and theft. He was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $147,000 cash bail.

Police said two other suspects were taken into custody Wednesday at the Amtrak Station in Los Angeles. They are awaiting extradition back to Delaware where they will be formally charged for the incident, police said.

Police said a 31-year-old Dover man sustained a gunshot wound to the upper body during the incident in the 100 block of Old Forge Drive. He was transported to Bayhealth for treatment.
