LAUREL - Thomas Jerry "Tommy" Sammons passed away on Dec. 25, 2015 at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Seaford Del. on July 9, 1956, he was the son of the late Roland Charles and Norma Faye Williams Sammons. He attended Seaford High School and in 1974 earned his certification as a certified welder which was an occupation he pursued the rest of his life. He has most recently worked for Pennisula Oil Company in Seaford, Del. His greatest joy in life was being a loving father and grandfather. He is survived by two daughters; Tiffany Faye Orick (Stephen) of Seaford, Del. and Stephanie Reene Brice (Tylden) of Laurel, Del., four granddaughters; Rachel Wooten, Emily Matthews, Stephanie Orick, and Cheza Brice, five sisters; Linda Sammons of Dagsboro, Del., Dale Ann White of Supply, N.C., Vicki Hall of Greenwood, Del., Leisha Blades of Laurel, Del., Tammi Brown of Delmar, Md., and one brother; Patrick Sammons of Agusta, Ga., and his significant other, Shirley A. Henry. Funeral services will be Wednesday Dec. 30 at 2:00pm at Williamson Funeral Home at 311 S. Main St. Federalsburg, Md. with Pastor Gary Crouch of the Elliott Island United Methodist officiating. The family will receive friends and the funeral home one hour prior to service. Interment will take place at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Federalsburg, Md.
