DOVER - Thomas J. Barbetta, 70, of Dover, passed away Thursday August 26, 2010 at his home with family at his side. He was born on November 01, 1939 in Pottsville, Pa., to the late Angelo and Margaret Hagerty Barbetta. Thomas was a quiet man who was devoted to serving God, his wife, family, church and country. Thomas had a special relationship with the Alliance of the Two Hearts that added to his faith and devotion. He was an active member of Dover Knights of Columbus, and an active member of Holy Cross Catholic Church as an usher and volunteer. Tom retired from the U. S. Air Force after 26 years of service then retired with the State of Delaware after 10 years as a inspector with the DMV. Thomas was a loving and devoted husband and father. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Connie Barbetta of Dover; son, Michael Barbetta of Spring, Texas, son, Timothy Barbetta of S.D.; daughter, Janice Barbetta of Dover, daughter, Deanna Winder of Camden; grandchildren, Drew and Emily Barbetta, Justin and Karlee Barbetta, Miranda and Nelia Nuss. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday 09/03/2010 10:30 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Dover, DE. Burial will be at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cem. in Bear, DE at 2 p.m. Friends may call Friday at 9 a.m. til time of Mass at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Dover. The family request that memorial contributions be given to Alliance of the Two Hearts or Delaware Seasons Hospice. Letters of condolences may be sent to www.delmarvaobits.com or traderfh@aol.com
