Thomas A. 'T.C.' Chance Sr., 64

TOWNSEND - Thomas A. "T.C." Chance Sr., of Townsend, passed away suddenly with his family and friends by his side on Sunday, June 29, 2008, at Christiana Care-Christiana Hospital, Newark. He was 64. Thomas was born Oct. 13, 1943, in Wilmington, son of the late Donald and Dorothy (Smidt) Chance. T.C. retired after 30 years as a metal finisher from Chrysler Corp., Local 1133. He was a devoted husband, brother, father, grandfather and friend. He was loved by many. He was the rock of the family and a jack of all trades. His hobbies included horseshoes (former Delaware State Champion), woodworking, target shooting, hunting, yard work and working on cars. In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his siblings, Louie, Bill, Rosemary and Mike. He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Ann Wilkinson Chance; his siblings Phil, James, Donna, Maggie and Gina; his cherished children, Roger and wife Teresa, Dougie, Randy, Richard and wife Donna, Barry and wife Mary Beth, Thomas A. "Tucker" Chance Jr. and wife Nancy, and Ann Marie. He was the adored grandfather to Jessi, Dougie, Cassie, Stacy, Elizabeth, Ashli, Stephanie, Thomas III, Myles, J.R., Curtis, Jacob, Matt, Hannah and Cody. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Joey and Hunter; and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Anne's Episcopal Church, 115 E. Green St., Middletown. Family and friends may visit from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Daniels and Hutchison Funeral Home, 212 N. Broad St., Middletown, DE 19709. Interment will be in Old St. Anne's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Anne's Episcopal Church, P. O. Box 421, Middletown, DE 19709-0421; or to the American Diabetes Association, DE/Eastern Shore Office, 100 W. 10th St., Suite 1002, Wilmington, DE 19801 Arrangements by Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home, Middletown.
