Theresa Ann Baker, 74

DOVER - Theresa Ann Baker, of Dover, died Sunday, April 6, 2008, in her home. She was 74.

Mrs. Baker was born June 10, 1933, in Lackawanna, N.Y., to the late Walter Francis Sobel and Sally (Paciorek) Sobel.

She moved to Delaware in 1955 and lived most of that time in Lincoln. She moved to Dover in 2003.

Mrs. Baker started her nursing career in 1955.

She worked as a registered nurse for Milford Memorial Hospital from 1963 until her retirement in 1994.

Mrs. Baker was a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Dover.

She enjoyed flowers, gardening, knitting and crocheting.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, John Baker, on July 14, 2004; and her son, Tim Robbins, on Sept. 26, 2003.

Mrs. Baker is survived by her three sons, Tom Robbins and his wife Diane of Milford, Ted Robbins and his wife Sally of Magnolia, Todd Robbins and his wife Shelley of Dover; four stepchildren, Sandy Naylor and her husband Wayne of Georgetown, Bruce Baker and his wife Sherry of Seaford, Brigette Aymar of Las Vegas, Nev., and Tammy Morrison and her husband Raymond of Milton; two brothers, Stanley and Eddie Sobel of Lackawanna; her sister, Sally Keptner of Lackawanna; four grandchildren, Christine Bush, Cassey Robbins, Sammy and Tyler James Robbins; a grandson on the way; and six step-grandchildren, Preston, Lisa, Mindy, Blake, Jessica, Ashley and Shelby.

Funeral services will be private.

Local arrangements by Torbert Funeral Chapel, Dover.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the Delaware Hospice, 911 S. Dupont Highway, Dover, DE 19901.
