Susan L. Saathoff

DENTON, Md. - Susan L. Saathoff died Sunday, May 4, 2014 at her home. She was 65 years old. Born in Cambridge, Md. on Jan. 9, 1949, Mrs. Saathoff was the daughter of the late Otto Carl Luthy and Mary Virginia Sanders Luthy. She was a 1967 graduate of the Cambridge, Md. High School. Mrs. Saathoff was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. She was also very active in her church, the New Life Wesleyan Church in Greensboro, Md. and its charitable activities. She volunteered for Breaking Bread and served on the Winter Haven Board Denton. In addition, she had been the local Coordinator for Operation Christmas Child. Mrs. Saathoff is survived by her husband, James G. Saathoff of Denton; two daughters and their husbands, Sara F. and Greg Collins of Harrington, and Rebecca and Craig Burgess of Greensboro; and one son and his wife, Mathew and Patricia Saathoff of Denton; two sisters, Flora V. Knauer of Cambridge and Frances L. Saathoff of Denton; and eleven grandchildren, Tyler, Abby, Dustin, Dylan, Mackenzie, Corinn, Devon, Hailee, Kaleb, Aiden, and Hunter. She was predeceased by one brother, Harold D. Olsen. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, May 9, 2014 at the New Life Wesleyan Church in Greensboro, where the family will greet friends at a gathering immediately after the service. The interment will be private. If friends wish to send memorial donations, the family suggests that they be sent to the New Life Wesleyan Church, 13699 Greensboro Road, Greensboro, MD 21639, for distribution to different charities.
