GREENWOOD - Susan Hickman was born on Apr. 7, 1944 and passed to Jesus' arms on Nov. 25, 2017. Susie, as she was usually called, was a special individual with a lot of heart, humor, and energy. She loved to sit on the porch, dance, be a part of family and friend gatherings, do crafts and bead necklaces. She worked for 19 years with Easter Seals, and also with CHIMES for three years. Susie retired in 2014. She is survived by her current caretaker, Marjorie Carroll, Bruce and Abigail Carroll, Greg and Angela Baker, and M. Louise Parker; three children that adored her like an adopted grandmother, Aisling Carroll, Lane and Eli Baker; previous caretaker, Arthur Robert Chick and his family; and also many wonderful friends from First State Senior Center in Milford. A visitation will take place on Friday, Dec. 8, 2017 at Stockley Center Chapel, 26351 Patriots Way, Georgetown at 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. Interment will be at Asbury Church Cemetery, Georgetown. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent to First State Senior Center, 219-A Rehoboth Blvd. Milford, DE 19963. Arrangements in the care of Short Funeral Services, Georgetown.
