The last Wednesday of the month is a special day for the Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce membership and friends because that’s traditionally the date for the Sunset Business Mixer. This event is the chance for the amazing Central Delaware business community to mix, mingle and be introduced to a local organization or business. The CDCC is proud to offer this event consistently to the community because of the bonds it creates and maintains. Whether you’ve only attended one Sunset Business Mixer or one of many, the CDCC welcomes and thanks you for staying engaged with your local community.
Chamber members and friends will gather for the next Sunset Business Mixer on Wednesday, July 30, from 5–7 p.m., at the Central Delaware Habitat for Humanity ReStore (CDHFH) located at 2311 S. DuPont Hwy. in Dover. This event is hosted by the Central Delaware Housing Collaborative in partnership with the CDHFH.
One of the best things about the CDCC’s Sunset Business Mixer is that you never know who you will meet and what new relationships you will make. It’s inspiring to see the community come together from all different backgrounds and areas of expertise with one goal in mind: to foster relationships that further the quality of life and economic development of the place we call home — central Delaware.
Attendees will enjoy light refreshments and drinks with business associates as they expand their network, catch up with colleagues, and meet new friendly faces, while learning about the host organizations. The event host, Central Delaware Housing Collaborative, is a program designed to provide temporary, safe shelter and a person-centered approach to care for single women in Kent County experiencing homelessness, as well as connect them to local resources. Their partner for this mixer, the Central Delaware Habitat for Humanity, works to transform lives and revitalize our Kent County communities by building and repairing quality homes in partnership with families in need. The CDHFH ReStore will be open during the mixer giving everyone the opportunity to view and purchase a variety of unique items. All proceeds received go toward building homes for those in need.
In addition to talking to their representatives at the mixer, you can learn more about each of these member organizations on their websites: hoh19903.wixsite.com/cdhc and www.centraldelawarehabitat.com. There are plenty of volunteer and donation opportunities for the community to get involved and make a big difference. Don’t miss your chance to talk to them about what you can do to help them with their efforts.
