Stephen Bradford Dawson

Stephen Bradford Dawson, 59 MILLSBORO - Stephen Bradford Dawson, of Millsboro and Rehoboth Beach, died Sunday, April 18, at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes. He was 59. A lifelong local artist, Steve painted hundreds of works of art, which he enjoyed giving as gifts to his family. He especially enjoyed painting Christmas cards for relatives. He graduated from Cape Henlopen High School. Through his life, Steve kept a strong religious faith. His father, Norman L. Dawson, preceded him in death. He is survived by his mother, Frances E. Dawson, of Rehoboth; brothers, E. Thomas and wife, Wanda, of Salisbury, Md.; David R. and wife, Valerie, also of Salisbury; William H.W. and wife, Shirley, of Lewes; John H.C. and wife, Sue, of Wilmington; and Christopher F. and wife, Eileen, of Rehoboth; uncles Richard M. Calhoun and wife, Sylvia, of Bridgeville, and Frank L. Calhoun, of Crozet, Va.; 11 nieces and nephews and several grand-nieces and nephews. A service will be held on Monday, April 26, at Melson's Funeral Services Long Neck Chapel on Long Neck Road at 2 p.m. Friends may begin calling at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in Georgetown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Rehoboth Art League, 12 Dodds Lane, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971. Online condolences can be sent by visiting www.melsonfuneralservices.com.
