Speak Up: Lawmakers OK bill to slash Delaware greenhouse emissions

A bill to slash state greenhouse gas emissions cleared its last hurdle in the General Assembly on June 27. Senators voted 15-5 to pass the Delaware Climate Change Solutions Act of 2023. The House of Representatives approved the bill earlier in the month. It would mandate the state target to be a 50% reduction in gases that contribute to planetary warming by 2050 and “net zero” emissions by 2050.
