Speak Up: Former Delaware auditor files for Rehoboth-area House seat

Posted

Former State Auditor Kathy McGuiness has officially filed a campaign committee for the 14th District seat in Delaware’s House of Representatives, according to the state’s campaign finance reporting website. Ms. McGuiness was elected Delaware’s auditor of accounts in 2018, serving in the post until her resignation in October 2022, following convictions of misdemeanor official misconduct and conflict of interest related to the hiring of her daughter for the office.

  • If she was charged, how can she run? This is ludicrous! — Danree Fjelsted Heath
  • Leave it to Democrats to run the former disgraced state auditor, who can’t be trusted with power or public money, for political office where she not only gets to vote on legislation but vote for how our money gets spent. What could go wrong? Reminder to not vote for Democrats in 2024. — Jonathan Contant
