A Security Ad-Hoc Committee has been put in place by Dover City Council to improve the safety of City Hall, following some concerns lodged by constituents. Councilwoman Donyale Hall, who spearheaded the group and is a member of it, said the idea came to her ahead of council’s regular session July 14.
- No worry about schools, day cares, churches or assisted-living facilities, huh? Just worried about themselves! Most government buildings already have security on-site as it is! — Dean Grabo
- Robin Christiansen wasting money again! Worry about getting crime under control in Dover! — Danree Heath
- All these decades, now it’s a problem. — Stephan Pierce
- Oh, please. Make a 5-mile radius around City Hall a gun-free zone. That always seems to work (sarcasm). Oh, and to put that 5-mile radius into perspective: That is basically going from Dover City Hall on Loockerman Street to Byler’s on Del. 8. — Kyle Hendrix
