Dover’s Parks, Recreation and Community Enhancement Committee voted 8-1 on Sept. 9 to approve the active recreation plan for a proposed mixed-use building, though there was some dissent.
- You’re going to build a million-dollar building in the heart of downtown? For recreation? For whom? The homeless population? Criminals? Drug users? They built a library in Dover, and it’s already in such bad shape. The building looks like it’s gone through a hurricane. — Rick Kerchevall
- Why are they building all the million-dollar places, when crime downtown is what keeps people away? Just open the door and throw money out! — Danree Heath
