Social Security Administration set to reopen Delaware offices

Posted

The Social Security Administration will resume live services at its offices this week.

“I am pleased to announce that local Social Security offices will restore in-person services, including for people without an appointment, on (Thursday),” said Kilolo Kijakazi, acting SSA commissioner.

The organization recommends that, to avoid waiting in line, individuals call their local offices to schedule appointments, rather than walking in.

Customers who visit without appointments may encounter delays.

SSA’s Delaware offices are in Dover, Lewes and New Castle.

Given that many individuals the organization serves have health vulnerabilities, and consistent with its union agreements, SSA is continuing to require certain safety measures, including masking, physical distancing and self-checks for COVID-19 symptoms.

Staff will provide masks to the public and employees if needed.
