Smyth: In defense of disagreeing agreeably

This is to express my appreciation for the guest commentary by Janis Gaddis in the Daily State News at baytobaynews.com (“Political opinions offered ‘pie-in-the-sky’ ideas").
Too many people now are so disgusted with politics — and with the vicious attacks that too often occur — that they don’t speak out at all.
But, while Ms. Gaddis disagrees with many of my opinions, she does so civilly. This nation needs more of this kind of thoughtful pro-and-con discussion of public issues.
